Hey guys, it’s Kayla Waller with Waller Adventures, and in this video I’m out in Williston, Florida (right on the outskirts of Ocala) checking out Six Gun Territory reborn at Kirby Family Farm. I talk a little history on it—how Six Gun Territory was a big roadside attraction back in the post-war travel boom, kind of Florida’s version of Tweetsie Railroad in North Carolina, and how it eventually closed down in the 80s when travel slowed and the whole “cowboys and Indians” phase faded out. Kirby Family Farm brings it back as an annual reunion weekend, and they even bring in original performers from the old park, which is honestly just really cool to see. I hop on the old-school wooden train (they said it’s from the original territory) and we get a full-on train robbery shootout—smoke, yelling, gold box drama, the whole deal. After that, I walk the midway with all the food and vendors (funnel cake, boiled peanuts, barbecue), check out leatherwork like holsters and belts, and head into the Western town for the gunfight shows, the Boot Hill cemetery jokes, and the soda pop shop where I mix black raspberry with cream soda. We also catch the medicine man act (Professor Mortimer) and cruise around to more of the themed areas—just a packed day of Old Florida nostalgia and Wild West fun.
