In this video I’m rating a bunch of new (and new-to-me) perfumes as a “shop or drop,” and yes—we’re starting with the new new from Kayali. I tested Eden Plush Pear 23 and Eden Sweet Peach 35, and I’m happy to report I genuinely like both. Plush Pear surprised me: it’s light, translucent, and reads like a candied white floral with a sweet pear vibe (almost a fruity shampoo moment, but pretty). Sweet Peach is the one I regret not buying bigger—juicy, mouthwatering, very “peach in perfume,” with a thicker, longer-lasting feel. I also wore Gucci Bloom Ambrosia di Fiori and loved it as a tuberose-forward, traditional floral with a little zing (and a drydown that gave me a slightly soapy, Pure Poison-adjacent vibe). Then we get into Ellis Brooklyn Isla Sirena, which is a two-thumbs-up tropical dream—lime, creamy coconut, a banana-like tropical texture, and serious nuclear projection. And then…we have to talk about Armani Power of You, because I tried it twice and it was a hard no for me (trust issues were activated). To wrap up, I’m crowdsourcing your opinions on a few curiosities: Fugazzi Cloudh Nine, Juliette Has a Gun Banana Rush, Tom Ford Taormina Orange, Phlur Honeymoon, and the wildly creative Andrea Maack Indigo (asphalt and jeans accord?
