In this video I’m continuing my note-focused series, and today it’s all about rose fragrances—specifically the only five rose perfumes I’d grab if I had to run out the door and live with just a tiny “deserted island” edit. Rose is a note I used to side-eye because I associated it with old-fashioned, potpourri-ish vibes (and yes, I wore T-Rose in high school to death). But after testing thousands of perfumes for the channel, I’ve fully developed an affinity for rose… to the point that I have an entire corner of my collection dedicated to it. Most of my picks lean serious, mature, and evening-appropriate—big presence, luxe texture, and that “people will notice you” kind of projection. I do include one that I think shines as an easy daytime wear, especially heading into spring and summer: Kayali Fleur Majesty Rose Royale, which keeps rose light and playful with fruity notes. From there, I get into creamy, royal rose (Mind Games Prodigy), my ride-or-die sweet rose-praline-oud obsession (Andrea Maack Pavilion), an ultra-perfumey special-occasion stunner (Fragrance Du Bois New York 5th Avenue), and a dark, vampy plum-rose that scratches a Decadence itch (Octavia Morgan Dark Rose). I also give an honorable mention to Amouage Guidance 46—rose is there, but it’s really a loud, orchestral, love-it-or-hate-it experience, so I’m firmly in the “try before you buy” camp.
