About This Video

In this video I’m looking at Captify’s newest AI smart glasses, the Captify Pro, and the whole idea is simple: subtitles in the real world. On your phone or computer you can just switch on captions, but when you’re out and about you don’t have that luxury—so these glasses aim to fix that by transcribing and translating what people are saying right in your line of sight. I compare them to Captify’s original smart glasses (the earlier collab pair) and for me the Pro is the obvious upgrade. They’re 16% lighter, feel way more premium, and the projection area is much smaller and less distracting, so they look more like normal glasses when someone’s talking to you. You’ve still got dual projectors (one per lens), mics all around for pickup/noise cancelling, and speakers aimed at your ears, plus a magnetic charging cable. Feature-wise, the big win is translation: the originals did up to 13 languages, but the Pros can do 30–40+ with dialect and accent detection. I also talk through real-world use cases beyond accessibility—meetings (live notes + a transcript after), lectures for non-native English speakers, and even travel situations like Disneyland Paris where you’re catching mixed languages. There’s an optional AI subscription for extras like conversation summaries and Q&A, but I like that you don’t have to subscribe to use a lot of the core features.
