In this video I’m reviewing the Redmi Buds 8 Lite, the new budget earbuds from Redmi (Xiaomi’s sister company). Xiaomi are a big deal in tech — third biggest phone manufacturer in the world — and these buds are a perfect example of how they keep pushing features down into cheaper products. On paper the Buds 8 Pro are “better”, but for what you get here for the money, it’s honestly insane. I break down the key specs and what they mean in real use: a massive 12.4mm driver (anything over 12 in this household is considered massive), which gives you better depth, range and bass, and helps avoid distortion at higher volumes. You also get Active Noise Cancellation up to 42dB — not the best on the market, but at this price you usually don’t get ANC at all, and it’s enough to clear things like a fan, distant road noise and light chatter. For calls, there are two mics with AI noise reduction, so your voice comes through clearer. Battery is another big win: 8 hours continuous, up to 36 hours with the case. You’re also getting Bluetooth 5.4 for a stronger, more efficient connection, plus Google Fast Pair-style quick connect. At around $19.99 / £20, these are an absolute steal and a total no-brainer.
