Today we’re moving our pasture-raised laying hens into the winter coop and taking time to reflect on what worked—and what didn’t—this season. Chickens can be a blessing to the pasture, but if you’re not careful, they can do just as much harm as good. After Andy makes a few quick repairs to the winter coop, Meagan heads to the garden to gather basil, parsley, and comfrey to dry for winter. We end the day by taking the cows a roll of hay and soaking in that peaceful evening light together. Thank y’all for being part of our journey here on the ridge.
