This morning started like most do… out in the barn with the milk cow. I shared a little about what it takes to train a good one, it don’t happen overnight, that’s for sure. But before we could get too far into the day, we realized a tree had come down right on the fence. So Andy headed out to take care of it, cutting it off and getting things back like they ought to be. From there it was just a steady day of farm work a little time in the barn, a little fixing, and me bringing Andy a mid-morning snack to keep him going. And somewhere in all of that… we finally decided to settle something that’s probably caused more arguments than it should… Square orange nabs or round nabs - which one’s better? Go let @SheratonParkFarms which one you think is better! Orange and square is king! We’d sure like to hear what y’all think down below. About This Video

This morning I was down in the barn trying to get my life together and knock out chores, and I’ll be honest—my coffee was too good and that recliner about got the best of me. But we got in there with the milk cow, and I talked a little about what it really takes to make a good one. It don’t happen overnight. I’ve put a lot of hours, hard work, and yes—some tears—into this cow. She’s come a long ways from the days it took me and Andy both to hog tie her just to keep from getting tore up, and now she’s standing better, holding her weight, and acting like a good girl. Before we could get too far, we found a tree down on the fence from that crazy wind. Andy headed out and handled it quick, and he also showed a battery-powered DeWalt chainsaw he’s been impressed with for small jobs—still not what he’d cut a year’s firewood with, but mighty handy when you just need a few cuts. We also talked weather and the orchard—buds and blooms popping out right before a hard freeze, and what we might try (like hanging water jugs) even if we’re not sure it’ll save anything. And then we finally settled the important stuff: the Great Nabs Debate. I’m team square orange nabs all day long, and I’ll die on that hill. Round nabs might get some folks by, but if you tell somebody to bring me nabs, they better come out orange and square.
