We start the day the same way we do most mornings… out in the barn milking the cow and getting the day going. After chores Andy makes a few repairs to my milking area that have been needing some attention. Then we load up and head down the road to pick up something we’ve been working on for quite some time now… a new merch line that will be coming soon for the True Grit family. Back home we finish the day doing what we love most, planting pepper seeds as the sun sets. Thanks for being here with our family. ❤️ If youd like to visit our website you can find it here https://truegritappalachianways.com Shop HOSS here http://mdsh.io/quassigrl #homesteadlife #familyfarm #countryliving #truegritappalachianways #farmvlog #milkingacow #seedstarting #gardeningseason #appalachianlife #simpleliving

About This Video

Morning y’all, it’s Megan. We started the day like we do most mornings—down in the barn with Candy, milking and getting everybody fed. I always say that sound of milk hitting the bucket, birds singing, and that cool morning air is one of the best ways to start the day… before the air gets thick and hot. We’re watching the weather too, because North Carolina will fool you—everything’s blooming and then here comes a cold snap. I hate seeing 20° nights on the forecast, but the Lord knows what we need and sends it our way. After chores, Andy tackled a fix I’ve been after him about—closing up those board gaps in my milking area so the cows can’t stick their heads through and tear up everything (or worry Candy to death trying to steal her feed). Cows get bored and they’ll find trouble, so we’re tightening things up the right way. Then we made a trip to town to pick up something we’ve been working on for a good while: our new True Grit merch. We’re keeping it simple to start—Richardson 112 embroidered hats and Comfort Colors tees—because we’re taking this on ourselves now, and we want to do it right. Back home, we finished the day doing what we love—getting pepper seeds started for salsa and hot sauce, and yes… we even labeled them this year.
