Today Andy is finishing up the wooden frame for our farm meter box and putting in more time on the new hay shed. Out in the cold air, boards get measured, cut, and set in place, the kind of work that keeps a place running. Back inside, I’m in the kitchen making sausage biscuits and a batch of party mix. This is just a simple look at a normal day here, working with our hands, feeding our family, and carrying on with the life we’re building together. We’re grateful for the chance to share it with y’all. Party Mix 4 cups corn chex 4 cups wheat chex 3 cups rice chex 2 cups cheese its (this can be replaced with any other kind of cracker or cereal you want) 3 cups pretzels 1.5 cups salted mixed nuts Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine the above ingredients in a large pan. Make the seasoning. 10 tablespoons melted butter 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp salt 1 1/4 tsp garlic powder 3/4 tsp onion powder 3/4 tsp dried Italian herbs Combine the above ingredients. Poor slowly over snack mixture. Mix as you go, make sure it is mixed very well. Bake for 1.5 hours. Stirring every 30 minutes. Cool and keep in an airtight container.
