This Tuesday morning coffee, I’m sitting down with y’all on a chilly, cloudy February 3rd (26°) and just talking through what’s been going on around our place. We’ve had a real pretty snow—about 7 or 8 inches here depending on where you measured—and it was that dry, powdery kind we don’t usually get in Appalachia. I was out there blowing the porch off with a leaf blower, and we couldn’t even make a proper snowman because it wouldn’t stick together. The kids still had a ball sledding once we packed some tracks in, but I’ll be honest—I’m ready for the white stuff to get out of my way, because what I dread worse than snow is the mud that comes after it. Then we share two big updates we’ve been working on for months. First, we’re bringing y’all our exact sausage seasoning blend—True Grit Sausage Seasoning—made for us by Old Mansion (Petersburg, Virginia) with the extra sage we always add. It’s a one-pound pack meant for 40 pounds of ground meat, and it’s that old-timey breakfast/country sausage flavor—mild with just a little bite.
