Once You Know It All || Garlic, Onions, Apple Butter & Fellowship || October 2025

Today was one of those full but good homestead days. Andy planted garlic and bunching onions right in the mulch rings of our fruit trees—no dedicated garden space needed. Meanwhile, Meagan stayed busy in the kitchen with a big pot of apple butter slowly simmering down, filling the house with the smell of fall. In between stirring and waiting, we sat together on the porch shelling dried black-eyed peas, just like our grandparents did. Not every task got finished, but that’s the way of homesteading—there’s always tomorrow. The day ended with a visit from friends, and truth be told, the fellowship was worth more than finishing chores. We’re grateful you’re here with us, watching these little pieces of our life.
