Today’s video follows Andy out in the field picking our heirloom Boone County White corn with the 1970s New Idea 309 one-row corn picker. It didn’t go quite as planned — there were some breakdowns and hard lessons along the way — but that’s part of farming. Andy got her patched up and back in the field the next day. Meagan and the kids are checking a persimmon seed to see what kind of winter might be ahead. We didn’t get the whole field picked today — some of it just wasn’t ready — but we’ll be back soon to finish the job.
