Calm seas, clear water, and long days on the hauler. In this episode, we start shallow and work our way deeper, testing different grounds and net placements. Some chains are quiet, others suddenly come alive with back to back monkfish. We talk through what works, what doesn’t, and why certain spots deliver big fish while others fall flat. Along the way we also pull up halibut, skate, ling, crabs, and plenty of surprises. You’ll see how monkfish behave in the nets, why some spin them into complete chaos, and how we adjust ropes, buoys, and angles to reduce strain and improve future catches. Not every net is full, but with 200 nets in the water, the day still delivers solid results and some very memorable moments. Especially compared to the rough conditions in the previous video, this one shows the other side of commercial fishing. Calm seas, beautiful light, and steady work.
