In this episode, we haul 140 monkfish nets, spread across multiple chains, in rough and changing conditions. The day starts off slow and honestly disappointing, but as we keep going, the fishing finally turns around. *Along the way, we talk about:* 1. Why monkfish are handled alive and processed immediately 2. How net fishing works for different species 3. Why location, depth, season, and bottom matter more than the gear itself The clear highlight of the day is an unexpected *BIG* halibut, which turns into a proper battle to get onboard without tearing the net. Easily one of the standout moments of the entire season. To finish things off, we also pull a couple of fish nets closer to shore and end the day with a solid saithe (coalfish) haul, making this one of the longest and most demanding days we’ve had on the boat.
