Strong current, wind pushing against the tide, and heavy waves made this trip more challenging than expected. We started with several monkfish nets in the ocean before moving on to the fishing nets later in the day, hoping the ice situation would hold up long enough to make it worth it. Despite the conditions, the fish kept coming. Plenty of monkfish, crabs, sea stars, ling, pollock, and even a few unexpected catches along the way. Some nets twisted up badly, others fished perfectly, and a few fish were literally hanging on by a thread.
