I build a new video editing pc for 2023. Specs: 64 gig of ram Corsair DDR5 Intel i9 13900kf CPU Asus Prime z790 Motherboard MSI 3080 Graphics Card Phanteks Enthoo pro Case Corsair RMx1000x Power Supply Samsung 980 pro m.2 Drive Samsung 870 SSD Drive Corsair icue h150i Liquid cpu cooler After 9 years of working with my current editing pc it was time to upgrade. This new PC is powerful and should handle any video editing that I toss its way. Installing the components does take a while just go slow and be sure to reference the motherboard manual often. Also place one hand of the metal case to dissipate and static electricity that you might have before touching components. About This Video

In this video I build a new video editing PC for 2023 to replace the machine I’ve been using for the past nine years. My old system was starting to make weird noises and I knew it was on its way out, so I unbox everything and then walk through the build step-by-step—from the Phanteks Enthoo Pro case and Corsair RM1000x power supply, to the Asus Prime Z790-P WiFi motherboard, Intel i9-13900KF, and 64GB of Corsair DDR5. I also upgrade the GPU to an MSI RTX 3080 (12GB), which is a big jump from the 1070 I was running before. I show how I approach the install order (I like getting the power supply in first because it’s hard to reach later), how I mount the Corsair iCUE H150i liquid cooler, and how I manage the fan/RGB hub wiring. I also share a couple real-world lessons from the build—like referencing the motherboard manual often, paying attention to fan airflow arrows, and the fact that installing an M.2 drive is a lot easier before a huge graphics card goes in. Once it’s up and running on Windows 11 (with Classic Shell because I like the old-school look), the system is performing flawlessly so far, and I’m very pleased with how it turned out.
