About This Video

I recorded this one while I was doing a premium live stream on Rumble Sunday night (during the Super Bowl… because I’m not watching the Super Bowl). This is my haul from The Villages Train Show, plus a quick run to Hobby Lobby afterwards, and yeah—looks like I’ll be busy on the workbench for a long time. I show you the little stuff that adds up: an Oxford 1942 Chrysler Town & Country Woody wagon from the Zitnik table, a straight Evergreen Hill Designs trestle I snagged for five bucks from the Citrus Model Railroad Club table, and a cheap wood kit diner car I talked down to three bucks (can’t beat that for a project). I also picked up a 060 Warehouser Timber Company car that already has knuckle couplers—he wanted 25 and I said “you take 15,” and he did. Then I show a couple structure kits, including a Campbell kit and an Iowa schoolhouse kit (I even tried the “would you take 24?” move). After that I’m over at the workbench showing Hobby Lobby finds: an airbrush cleaning set (because you know why I use rattle cans… I hate cleaning airbrushes), a leather working board for punching/cutting, metallic wax I’m going to experiment with on corrugated panels, sanding/file sticks, and some basswood squares. I wrap it up by showing what I’m building now—my sash and door kit work, with primer, ink/alcohol edge weathering, and little tricks like spacers and mounting ideas.
