About This Video

In this one I’m kind of distracted from the train room, because I’ve been messing with the studio/office setup instead. I start out at the workbench with Suydam Sash & Door kit #1—it's just about finished—and I’ll be doing the weathering and attaching the doors permanently on the Friday workbench edition live stream. After that I’m rolling right into kit #2, and that one’s a lot more extensive… a lot, a lot, a lot of stick builds. Then I show you what’s been keeping me occupied: a full desk and studio makeover. After five years of having the desk on the other side of the room, I moved it so it faces the window, cleaned up the background, and reworked the whole cable situation—Ethernet, speaker wires, USB runs, and where the CPU and power stuff lives. I also talk about why I’m using a surge protector instead of a battery backup for the PC (graphics cards can be picky about sine wave units), and I get the lights mounted back up so I can actually see what I’m doing. And yep… it’s been cold, so I’m not out in the yard much right now. Also, we’re headed to a train show at The Villages this weekend, so look for footage and hopefully a haul next week.
