About This Video

In this first video from the Raleigh Train Show (November 8, 2025), I’m taking you along from the drive in on 440 West all the way to getting through the doors—after a walk that felt like a half a mile. The NC State Fairgrounds had a bunch of other events going on, the place was packed, and parking was brutal. We stayed at a hotel the night before, grabbed Chick-fil-A for breakfast, and then it was time to hit the aisles. Once inside, I start working my way vendor-to-vendor, just scanning everything and calling out what I’m seeing—LGB, MTH, HO rolling stock, metal wheels and knuckle couplers, flex track, and tons of structure kits. There were tables loaded with Bar Mills, Blair Line, DPM, and other small building kits, plus some impressive bridges and modular layouts I’m saving for later. I also talk real-world train show pricing as I go—like seeing Campbell kits marked $100–$150 when I’ve paid around $50 for some of the same ones recently. Along the way I meet a few folks who recognized me, check out Tichy Train Group goodies, and even chat with a vendor about handy NCE throttle upgrades from DNI Designs.
