Happy New Year, fine people of the internet. In this one I’m doing a New Year’s Eve “Workbench Wednesday” without the workbench, because I don’t have anything set up on the bench right now. Instead, I’m looking back a few years and rolling a bunch of clips from 2022–2023, plus some fresh stuff from the last couple days. I start with the side yard project right outside the train room door—using pavers and leftover bricks from previous projects, adding a border, leveling with sand, and then finishing it off with sod so it doesn’t look like a dirt patch anymore. Debbie even claimed the spot for patio chairs as soon as it warms up. I also show what’s been going on with the train room (it’s basically at a standstill while the weather’s been nice) and then jump into more “real life” projects—like fixing a washing machine drain setup that was done wrong, cutting better slots for drainage, correcting a pipe run that was going uphill, and dealing with the fun surprise of nicking a sprinkler line. On top of that, I talk about streaming setup stuff—how I’m pulling video from another computer using V-Mix Open Media Transport—and I get into a couple rants about notifications and internet providers. Constantly improving, that’s the story.
