About This Video

In this one, Debbie grabbed the camera and we walked the Raleigh Train Show (November 8, 2025) together—so it’s a little “Debbie cam” tour with quick clips of what caught our eye. One of the big highlights was the LEGO layout I missed earlier (the NCLUG setup). I’m standing there like, “I can’t believe this whole layout is Legos,” because it’s huge—details everywhere, and they can run multiple trains on it if they want to. We also stopped and talked with folks about what things cost and what you actually get for the money. There’s a suitcase-style portable layout that’s basically ready-to-run with lighting and scenery, and it was around the $2,000 mark. But when you look at all the work that’s in it, it’s honestly not a bad value—especially if you want something you can set up and enjoy without starting from bare foam. Along the way we caught some neat HO scale action, including a long train and a Ringling Brothers circus consist, plus all the usual show atmosphere—people chatting, pointing out details, and just enjoying the hobby.
