About This Video

In this visit to The Villages Model Train Club, I head into the other room where they’ve got the layouts set up (and yes… the refreshments too). It was a big day—still people coming in—and I walk you through what’s running right now across a bunch of different club layouts. We’ve got multiple scales represented, including two G scale setups and the “tiny” stuff, plus more layouts down the line that keep you moving around the room to catch all the action. What I love about these club layouts is that every time we visit, there’s always something new to spot. In this video I point out scenes like the logging operation, a mine you can actually look into, and a big steel mill module that stretches about 12 feet. There’s plenty of fun details and little laughs along the way—like the traffic jams when a train stops and everyone’s trying to squeeze by, and even some signage that got “corrected” in a way that still gives us a good laugh. If you’re thinking about clubs, modules, or just looking for ideas you can steal for your own railroad, this one’s packed with inspiration—and I’ve got the schedule info for the next two years at the end of the video.
