Good morning—greetings and salutations, fellow earthlings of this planet. In this video I take y’all with me for our Vintage Day Out meet-up in beautiful Bedford, Indiana, and it’s basically everything I love about this vintage community: coffee first, then full-speed treasure hunting with my crazy friends (because if you have crazy friends, then you have everything). We start at Daily Sip to get caffeinated and ready to shop, then we hit some of my favorite honey holes like Washboard Antiques (hello, salt and pepper shakers) and It’s About Time Antiques in Mitchell where there’s a little bit of everything—glass, kitschy pieces, Christmas year-round, and great price points. From there we pop into Hoover’s Candy Shop (the caramel apple nachos are divine—made from scratch), then head to Southern Roots Country Store where my booth is. I share what’s going on with my booth (I’m downsizing because I can’t keep up), and we wander through friends’ booths and all the fun vintage whimsy. We also stop into White River Arts and Antiques and squeeze in Star City Thrift (they let us in even though they were closed—special entry, baby). And then we end the day back at the shop with a hangout and a thrifted “Dirty Retha” gift exchange—stealing, laughing, and showing off the prizes like the wild little vintage gremlins we are.
