Sometimes you walk into Goodwill and your soul is like, “Nope. You’re not leaving that on the shelf. You must buy it. You must give it a home.” That was me in this thrift haul. Mom and I hit a few spots—Goodwill, Salvation Army, Opportunity House in Bloomington, and an antique mall/Vintage Soul—and I’m showing you everything we dragged home, including one very questionable little creature that absolutely had to come with me. I share some of my favorite vintage-style finds (and a couple for my own collection), like a stack of Little Golden Books for 99 cents each, a couple of pretty glass trinket/jewelry caskets, and a gorgeous avocado-green jacquard tablecloth that somehow survived with no stains or holes (and yes, I’m washing the Goodwill funk off before it goes anywhere). I also scored a glowy Amberina piece for $1.99—Goodwill, we got you on one. Plus, I’m planning a DIY project with wooden drawer organizers to make trinket shelves because I’m not paying $100 for a printer tray. And the “weirdest thing”? A Fugler with human teeth and buttons for eyeballs… and an avocado sticker on his butt. I looked him up, and he can sell for around $18–$20, but honestly… he might hang around here awhile.
