Today’s little adventure was a mash-up of three of my favorite things: Goodwill thrifting, a quick Dollar Tree run, and then a mystery unboxing that had me laughing at myself in the parking lot—yes, it was a Splendies underwear unboxing. I started at Goodwill poking around furniture (because why is the wobbly modern piece $40 and the nice solid vintage-y piece $20?) and then I dug through plush and baby items. I grabbed a couple things for the baby (including a Little Tikes gas station that still dings!), a black bag of baby toys that I opened in the car, a really nice frame, and a few tapestry pieces that are getting popular right now. Then I popped into Dollar Tree to see what was new (and to hunt for a lotion I’ve been wanting), and of course I got distracted by blind bags and squishies—because life is serious and sometimes you need to be silly on purpose. I opened stretchy “orb” critters, a stretchy breakfast sandwich that I’m honestly obsessed with, Disney Doorables (Ariel + dwarfs kind of day), and two little “scamps” clips that are weirdly cute. Back at the shop, I pulled two eBay sales—a throwback late-90s style blanket and the most adorable vintage bunny sweater—and chatted shipping, listings, and upcoming sales. My takeaway: go get you a $1.25/$1.50 blind bag, open it, and let your inner whimsy breathe for a minute.
