I went LIVE inside Star City Thrift in Bedford with Lynn (one of the owners) and—fashionably late, of course—Richard. This was a real-time thrift trip where y’all got to walk the shelves with me, call out what you wanted to see, and hit me with all the “grab that!” moments while we hunted for vintage gems. I also showed how buying works on VAMP (Virtual Antique Marketplace)—because if you’re watching on Facebook/Instagram/YouTube, you can’t purchase, so you’ve gotta hop over there and get your payment info linked. We dug into some really good vintage glass and collectibles, like an Ellie Smith Moon & Star Amberina compote (yes, the yellow should glow), a Murano-style ashtray, and a gorgeous hand-painted Nepon piece with that raised moriage texture. We also ran some fun seasonal finds—Boyds bears, a talking Hallmark hippo that would not stop, St. Patrick’s table runners and decor, plus a framed “Van Go” sunflower print. My biggest takeaway: Star City Thrift is always changing it up, so if you shop here often, you’re going to see new stuff constantly—and if my battery dies mid-hunt, somebody better be ready to entertain the troops while I run for my charger.
