About This Video

So that Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase… yeah, that was a thing. In this video I break down whether it was good, bad, or just “meh,” and honestly it depends on what you’re into. If you’re a JRPG/anime game fan, I can see why you’d walk away pretty satisfied because the showcase leaned hard in that direction. I talk about how stacked it felt with stuff like Granblue Fantasy Relink, Tales of Arise, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and a bunch of other JRPG-style reveals. But if you’re not really into JRPGs like that, then I’m keeping it real: this Direct was left to be desired. For me it wasn’t awful, but it also wasn’t amazing—just kind of mid. I do shout out a few highlights that surprised me, like the decent amount of demos hitting the eShop, the Bomberman collection, that new Toro game coming back on Nintendo (didn’t see that coming), and the Oblivion remaster, which genuinely caught me off guard. And if you were expecting big third-party heat like Call of Duty, Expedition 33, or Doom: The Dark Ages, I explain why you’re probably waiting for a general Nintendo Direct later—maybe late February or even March.
