That’s basically $900 for a gaming console, and I straight up wasn’t expecting that kind of jump. I also talk about whether one game—like GTA 6—can really justify paying $900 for a PS5 Pro, because I honestly don’t know if it can. I compare that situation to Nintendo Switch 2 pricing too, since Switch 2 is sitting at $450 right now, and I say I wouldn’t be shocked if Nintendo eventually does a $50 increase (like $500 base and $550 bundle). Then I take it a step further and ask the real scary question: if the PS5 Pro is $900, how much is PS6 going to cost? With leakers saying PS6 could be 2027, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re staring at $999.99, and that would make upgrading a super slow transition for a lot of people.
