In this video I’m answering the question straight up: is the Nintendo Switch 2 worth owning in 2026? And my answer is yes—BUT there’s a “but” to it. If you’re buying it because you want to play Mario Kart World, Metroid Prime 4, or that Donkey Kong Bonanza, then yeah, it’s worth owning. Same thing if you want to treat it like a Switch Pro and run your Switch 1 games better—then it makes a lot of sense. Now if you’re not interested in those specific games and you’re not looking at it as a Switch Pro upgrade, I’m telling you to wait. I’d wait until the February Nintendo Direct before you lock in a decision, because right now it’s missing the big system sellers like a 3D Mario or a 3D Zelda. There’s third-party support and all that, and games like Mario Tennis Fever and Pokemon Picopia exist, but it “ain’t got the hits” yet. So as of right now in 2026, for a lot of people, the Switch 2 is a hard sell—until Nintendo shows more.
