About This Video

In this video I’m getting into the whole “technology on/in motorcycles” debate—are you for it, against it, or somewhere in the messy middle like most of us. I’m talking about the stuff we actually live with on real rides: phone mounts, navigation, comms, charging, and all the little gadgets that are supposed to make life easier… right up until they don’t. I’m not here to pretend every bike needs to be a rolling iPad, but I’m also not going to act like tech hasn’t saved my bacon on trips. My takeaway is pretty simple: I’m pro-tech when it genuinely adds to the ride—safer, smoother, less hassle—especially if you’re traveling, commuting, or doing big miles. But I’m against tech when it becomes the point, when it distracts from riding, or when it adds failure points you can’t fix on the side of the road with basic tools and bad language. Like everything bike-related, it’s about balance: keep the ride the priority, use the tech as a tool, and don’t let it turn into another thing you’re constantly fiddling with instead of just riding the damn bike.
