In this video, I’m giving you my real-world battery life update after running One UI 8 on my Galaxy S23 Ultra. I know I missed doing a 24-hour or 48-hour check-in, but I kept seeing comments about battery drain, software inconsistency, and bugs—so I finally did a proper run from 100% down to 5% before charging. And yes, I’ve got good news. Back on the One UI 7 update, my screen-on time dropped hard—I was only getting around 5 to 5 hours and 30 minutes, which is a pretty significant hit in battery performance. Now on One UI 8, I’m getting 6 hours and 32 minutes SOT, so that’s roughly a 1-hour improvement, and that’s a big deal for daily use. I also tested idle drain: before it was around 10–13%, but now after leaving the phone unused for about 16 hours, it only dropped around 7%, and the idle drain issue I mentioned before is basically gone on my end. If you already updated to One UI 8 but you’re still experiencing battery drain, my tip is to wipe the cache partition. I won’t do a full tutorial here since it can be confusing for beginners, but just search for a guide and follow it step-by-step. If you’re on the fence about updating, I’m not forcing it—but if you want better battery life, One UI 8 is looking better now.
