In this 10-month review, I tested the Tecno Camon 40 Pro 5G and answered the big question: is it still a good buy even with some compromises? I break down the design (dual-curve front and back, “swan neck” camera island, that small red vintage-style notification light), plus the practical stuff like port layout, the big camera bump wobble on the table, and why the plastic frame feels a bit cheap even if the back looks premium. You also get IP68/IP69 water resistance, and my unit in Emerald Lake Green looks seriously classy when it hits the light. I also talk about the 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with HDR and up to 144Hz—though I call out the curved panel issues and the “misleading” 144Hz option that’s basically only visible in settings right now. Performance-wise, the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate is fine for daily use and even ML/CoD, but for heavy games like Genshin, you’re looking at medium settings. Cameras are still the main reason to buy this: great main cam and excellent 50MP autofocus selfies, but I don’t forgive the ultrawide downgrade. Battery is solid at 5,200mAh with 10–11 hours SOT on average use, and while 45W charging is a downgrade, I can live with it—especially at the ₱12,999–₱14,999 pricing.
