Old games are great and they are even better when they get remastered but is it the same for hardware? Today we remaster our dumpster Lenovo ThinkCentre and give it much needed make over and the result is awesome! About This Video

In this video I take the Lenovo ThinkCentre office PC I literally saved from a dumpster and give it a proper “hardware remaster”. It booted up fine in the last video and it could handle older games and a bit of emulation, but it deserved a better life than limping along on Intel HD 2500 and a single 4GB stick of DDR3. So I strip it down, clean everything up (the thermal paste was completely dry and crumbling), and keep as much of the original kit as possible—because if you replace too much, you might as well just build a new PC. The big upgrades are simple but effective: I double it to 8GB DDR3 for dual channel, and I drop in a GTX 1050 Ti because it doesn’t need PCIe power and it’ll run happily off the tiny 180W PSU. I also move it into a cheap £30 microATX case to improve airflow and usability, but I’m honest about the budget-case headaches (wonky standoffs, awful included Molex fan, and those bend-out PCI slots). To top it off, I swap Windows 10 for Linux Bazzite for a longer-lasting, gaming-focused setup. For performance, Tomb Raider (2013) goes from basically unplayable to properly smooth at 1080p, but Spider-Man Remastered is just too much for this combo even with settings and upscaling tweaks. The takeaway is: this kind of “dumpster remaster” can be amazing for older and remastered classics, and now that it’s in a standard case, it’s ready to become a proper upgrade project.
