About This Video

In this short, I kept it real about the Soundcore V40i and focused on the stuff that can actually annoy you day-to-day—because at $60, you still don’t want headaches. I went straight into the cons, starting with the case design. Yeah, it looks futuristic and the magnets are strong, but the lidless setup defeats the whole “secure earbud case” idea for me. With no lid, the earbuds can still fall off, and that’s an easy way to lose them. The bigger issue with that open design is dust and debris. I’ve seen it a million times: dust gets between the plates and charge pins, then people say “it stopped charging after 2 months.” Most folks don’t clean their earbuds at all, so this design can make that problem even more likely. My other con was multipoint. When I connected two devices, the one I was actively using kept cutting out and coming back, which is a glitch I don’t usually get with other multipoint earbuds I test. Bottom line: for $60, you’ve got to decide if these tradeoffs are dealbreakers for you.
