About This Video

Budget products get underestimated all the time, so in Budget Breakdown #1 I tested that mindset with the Sanag S6S open-ear earbuds. On paper, they come in at $74 and bring Bluetooth 5.3, SBC/AAC, 10mm drivers, up to 8 hours per charge (38 with the case), IPX4, touch controls, and companion app support. I walk through the unboxing, first impressions, build quality, and a real fit test—because with open-ear, comfort and day-to-day practicality matter just as much as specs. Then I get into the real question: can a budget open-ear design be a viable everyday option? The fit is light with no pressure in the ear canal, and it stayed in place with head shakes for casual use. Sound-wise, expectations need calibration: there’s no seal, so you’re not getting sub-bass rumble (that’s physics, not price). Bass is present but not deep, mids are clear with vocals sitting upfront, and the highs are tuned safe—balanced with no harsh spikes. Outdoors you’ll need more volume because of leakage. Mic-wise, calls are clear in quiet rooms, but in louder environments background noise comes through—again, a trade-off of the category. I also break down who should buy it (comfort, awareness, podcasts/calls) and who shouldn’t (isolation, heavy bass, loud commutes), and I tee up episode two where I test the companion app to see if it adds real value or just fluff.
