About This Video

So yeah—you’re not tripping. I’ve talked about this before, but I had to re-record it after seeing a company’s “review requirements” for a wireless mic and watching how a lot of creators just… bow down to it. The doc was basically frame-for-frame instructions: keep the mic in a specific spot on screen, keep the logo visible, drag each feature out for a minimum time, and even repeat the full product name every single time instead of just saying “the mic.” That’s not a review. That’s an ad read with extra steps. In this video I break down why I do user reviews, not technical reviews. A technical reviewer is out here with meters, high-speed cameras, frequency graphs, latency tools—the whole lab setup. Me? I’m using the gear in my actual workflow and telling you what works, what doesn’t, and what would annoy you as a regular person spending your own money. Not everybody cares about the numbers; a lot of people just want to know if something is worth even looking at. The bigger point is the line gets blurred on YouTube: technical review vs user review vs straight-up advertisement. I’m trying to keep that line clear, keep my creative freedom, and actually look out for you—not the manufacturer.
