I demo the DN7 (SM7B-ish) and DN20 (RE20-ish) settings, and I’ll be honest—those presets don’t perfectly “become” those mics, but they do make the SD-1 sound better fast, like you already EQ’d it. Big takeaway: for like 80–90% of streamers and spoken-word creators, the SD-1 is a one-and-done mic when you pair it with something like a Wave XLR and basic processing (noise removal + de-esser). Stop buying three “almost” mics—buy it nice so you don’t buy it twice.
