It’s that time of year where everybody’s dropping new gear and people start panic-buying like they’re trying to “circumvent not having money for the rest of the year.” In this video I ask two quick things: first, how my audio sounds, because I’ve been testing Wavelink/Wavelength 3.0 with Beacon Studio/Beacon Mix Create to route audio between PCs and keep that voice-focused sound I like. The beta is free, you can run VSTs on basically any mic (USB or even 3.5mm), and I’m looking at grabbing the $50 Voice Focus add-on soon so I can test cheap mics and budget XLR interfaces and see how far we can push “good sound for cheap.” Then I get into the real point: Black Friday and holiday “deals” make people turn their brains off. Companies will jack prices up weeks before the holidays and then “discount” them back to normal and call it a deal. I’m telling you to use price-tracking extensions, check price history, and prioritize what you actually need for your workflow—especially if you don’t have money just flowing like that. Also, be careful with creator “deal” videos and affiliate link roundups—some folks don’t disclose sponsorships, and they’ll call something “the best” this week and a different product “the best” next week. Use your brain, shop smart, and don’t get herded into wasting your money.
