I’ve recorded this one a couple times because I wanted a definitive take: Elgato dropping Voice Focus and Wave Cast legitimately changes the game for me—especially as somebody who’s been pretty vocal about where the Beacn ecosystem is lacking. The big win is Voice Focus being available as a VST/plugin so you can use it in editing software (like DaVinci Resolve) or in workflows where you’re recording internally to a camera or using wireless lavs. I’m not a fan of “noise cancellation” on mics or most denoise plugins I’ve tested—usually it sounds bad—so the idea of recording clean (even 32-bit float) and then using something like Voice Focus is actually useful. Then there’s Wave Cast: another $50, but it can simplify a dual-PC audio setup and, more importantly for me, it can help “patch” some Beacn limitations. My goal is basically to take a Beacn Mic/Studio, run it through Wave Cast, add better plugins (voice isolation, background noise removal, echo removal), and then cast that mic signal to my second PC and OBS. Bottom line: I still love the Beacn Mix Create, I think Beacn Studio is solid but missing some key stuff, and I still don’t love the Beacn Mic sound in my space. Elgato didn’t just add features—they kinda saved Beacn… for ME.
