About This Video

I tested the IAMJOY (U Air4) wireless gaming earbuds because they had a bunch of reviews (4.4 stars with 1,000+ ratings) and the price was sitting around the $30 range when I grabbed them. I also recommended them to a friend before I got hands-on time… and yeah, that’s on me. This is a straight-up user review, not a spec-sheet breakdown, because sometimes you need somebody to warn you before you waste your money. There are a few “pros,” but I’m not gonna gas it: the case charges over USB-A or USB-C, you get a USB-C dongle with passthrough for VR headsets, plus a USB-C to USB-A adapter, extra tips, and a rubber outer band to help the fit. After that, the negatives start rolling in. Mine arrived completely dead with no protective film on the contact pins, the battery indicator is basically useless (you only really know when it’s 100%), and the earbuds only power on/off by opening/closing the case hinge. The touch controls are overly sensitive to the point where adjusting the fit can pause your music or hang up calls. But the dealbreaker is volume output: even at 100%, it sounds like 50–60% compared to every other headset/earbuds I use. Sound quality is “fine,” but the output is not—so my advice is simple: return them and get your money back.
