About This Video

In this video I’m sharing my beginner thoughts on cinematic color grading with Dehancer Pro inside DaVinci Resolve. Dehancer reached out, and I was super upfront: I’m not a filmmaker, I’m not here to teach a tutorial, and I’m still new to nodes and the whole Resolve color workflow. So I tested it like a normal creator would—real footage from the Sony A6700, DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and my Sony ZV-E10 (and I talk about the Mark II I’m using for my talking head setup). I show what my basic node tree looks like (edit, HDR, detail, LUT), how I usually avoid heavy grading by baking in the look with OBS + camera settings, and where Dehancer fits if you’re trying to go for that film vibe. My biggest takeaway: Dehancer is cool, but it’s not for everybody—especially not if you’re a “clean YouTube talking head” creator like me who just wants fast, repeatable results. The plugin has a ton of options (film stocks, grain, bloom, damage, etc.), but it can be overwhelming and I wish it had better tooltips for new users. I also call out some camera/profile limitations I noticed (like missing ZV-E10 support and only seeing S-Log3 options). If you’re doing cinematic vlogs, weddings, docs, or paid client work—and you’re willing to learn Resolve plus the plugin—this can make sense. Otherwise, LUT-based workflows might be the smarter budget move.
