In this one I’m doing a full, original music demo of the Polyend MESS—this wild multi-effect step sequencer that lets you run four effect engines and then program rhythmic sequences on one track or all of them at once. The whole point here is motion: synced, stepping, pulsing, stereo weirdness that feels like the pedal is “playing” with you. The video is basically me living inside the MESS and pushing it until it gets hot—heat, heat, heat—while I build a full mix from my studio. I’m running my modded TVL Jazzmaster with McNelly P90s (and some bass) through a CBA Preamp MKII into the Polyend PRESS compressor and then into MESS. Guitars are recorded in stereo: one side with a Beyerdynamic M160 ribbon into my Silktone 12W, and the other side into a Milkman The AMP Stereo—both into an Apollo Twin. I also bring in my Prophet REV2 for extra texture, and the beats are spliced from samples.
