About This Video

In this video, I’m sharing what I call my ultimate “going analog” toolkit—a big, expansive framework you can pull from if you want to get offline with a little more whimsy and intention. Analog living is so complimentary to slow living because it helps me stop relying on my phone for entertainment or fulfillment and instead ground back into real life. And just to be super clear: you do not need every single item in this toolkit (I definitely don’t). The goal is to use what you already have, get creative, and maybe treat yourself to one or two things that genuinely support your routines. I break the toolkit into categories: a notebook + writing tool (morning pages, commonplace notebook, bullet journal, scratch journal), hobbies + materials (reading, baking, puzzles), physical media (records, DVDs/VHS/CDs with their players), interactive games (cards, board games—please bring back game nights), and “dumb” or single-purpose tech (a digital camera/camcorder, and my beloved Freewrite Traveler-style setup for distraction-free writing). Then I wrap it up with the non-physical pieces that actually make it stick: a vibes toolkit (comforting beverage + favorite scent/candle) and a mindset toolkit (routine, patience, and body movement—especially outdoors). If you give yourself even five minutes, you’ll be surprised how quickly this lifestyle can start to grow.
