Today I’m telling you everything you need to know about my current bullet journal—because so many of you have asked after I started sharing more of my journaling ecosystem. I walk through why I came back to bullet journaling after bouncing between traditional planners and more creative, “lavish” BuJo spreads that honestly started to feel intimidating. What I love about a bullet journal is the customization: it’s just a blank notebook, and you get to build exactly what you need (weekly, monthly, or something totally different). For me, that means keeping it super streamlined so it’s as easy as a traditional planner—but way more flexible. I show you my actual setup inside my Paper Republic pocket journal: a pocket-sized softcover Moleskine with grid paper (lined is too limiting, blank is too loosey goosey). Then I flip through my consistent spreads—monthly overview, weekly layout, and my monthly reflection page—and we set up a new week together. My whole system runs on “three in capitals”: one bold pen for structure (Pigma Micron 08), one highlighter color per month, and one good everyday pen (a rollerball, because I’m left-handed and I will smudge the crap out of everything). The big takeaway is simple: do less on the page, but make it do more for you—so you can stress less and live more.
