About This Video

In this video, I’m sharing my little pocket guide to going analog—aka being chronically and mindfully offline—in what we’re calling the “year of the analog” (2026). To me, going analog just means doing less that’s reliant on a screen and choosing more traditional, physical ways of living your day-to-day. It fits so naturally into slow living, especially if you’ve been feeling like your phone is running your routines, your hobbies, and honestly… your attention. I walk through a few practical ways to start: picking up a truly screen-free hobby (and yes, I define “hobby” in the least intimidating way possible), stopping the urge to automate every single part of life, and making simple “text swaps” like switching from a digital calendar or digital planning to a physical planner or notebook. I also talk about using in-between tools like a distraction-free writing device (I have the Freewrite Traveler), and swapping phone photography for something more intentional like a point-and-shoot style camera. And then my two biggest anchors: getting outside more (it naturally breaks the phone-checking habit) and reading more—because it gets you off endless scrolling and back into learning, perspective, and presence. If you want a gentle starting point, I also recommend Substack for shorter think pieces you can read with your morning coffee.
