In this winter edition of my “what’s in my bag” series, I’m sharing the *current* lineup of essentials I’m hauling around—because yes, this bag is jam-packed and genuinely heavy. I start with the bag itself: a ginormous, slouchy genuine leather ASOS bag that I originally bought for my old hybrid job commuting into New York City from Jersey. Even though I’m fully remote now, I still reach for it constantly because it fits my entire life while somehow not looking overstuffed, and it’s held up really well (even when I used to throw a laptop in there and camp out in the office all day). From there, I get into the mix of true winter “what-if” items (cheap gloves, a thin triangle scarf that’s easy to tuck in, disposable hand warmers, and my tiny 8 oz Yeti that keeps coffee piping hot for an hour-plus commute). I also share the everyday staples that make my routines feel calmer and more functional—like my Baggu tote for errands, my Boox Palma 2 e-reader (smartphone-sized, Android-based, and perfect for Kindle/Libby/Substack), and my thrifted 23-year-old Canon PowerShot S50 that I’m obsessed with. And of course, I show the three pouches I always carry: my emergency allergy/respiratory meds pouch (nebulizer, inhaler, meds, and a backup portable charger), my journaling ecosystem (because journaling is non-negotiable for me), and my Glossier “emergency toiletries” bag full of the little bits and bobs that save the day—especially in winter.
