About This Video

There are things I used to do in my 40s that I simply don’t do anymore—not because trends changed, but because they stopped working. In this video I walk you through six skincare habits I quit in my 50s, and why my skin genuinely improved once I did less (but did it with intention). The big themes are barrier health, patience, and letting your skin “make the rules” instead of forcing it to keep up with whatever I could tolerate years ago. I talk about how I was exfoliating like glow was a competition—if it tingled, I thought it was “working” (I even called it spicy). I also layered actives just because I could, and I quietly damaged my barrier so subtly I didn’t even notice until an aesthetician pointed it out. From there I share what helped: a reset, structured exfoliation, purposeful actives, and finally treating my body like it’s part of the plan—because menopause made it very clear that aging doesn’t stop at the jawline. I also get real about chasing new launches, expecting fast results (at my age, I need at least 90 days), and the biggest mindset shift: I stopped chasing youth. I still love products and devices, but my goal now is healthier, stronger, more resilient skin—not necessarily younger skin.
