Habits That I’ve Picked Up in Italy 🇮🇹 | Living in Italy

About This Video

After living in Italy for about three years, I’ve noticed I’ve picked up a few everyday habits that feel totally normal now—until I go back to the U.S. In this video, I talk through the little lifestyle shifts that surprised me the most, starting with dinner time. I used to eat around 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. back home, but here I’m usually eating closer to 8:00 p.m. (and “early” for me now is starting to cook around 7:00). When I visit my dad and he wants to make dinner at 5:30, it genuinely feels way too early. I also share how my coffee order has changed since moving here. I used to be more of an iced latte/Starbucks person, but now I’m a macchiato girl—I like a small coffee with just a little milk, and cappuccinos are honestly too milky for me. Beyond food, I’ve also changed how I dress: even for quick errands, I feel like I need to look presentable, and I’ve definitely adopted the Italian “jacket longer than necessary” mindset. Lastly, I talk about cooking more seasonally here—what’s available in stores really follows the seasons, and it’s made me feel more present and connected to what I’m eating.
