Hey guys! Welcome back to tutorial #52, this time featuring one of my favorite artists ever - Madeon!! In this one I break down the sine wave lead in "Dream Dream Dream" from Good Faith using Serum. The basic idea behind this lead is combining a few harmonics & sine wave octaves to create something fairly minimalistic that really comes to life with some textured white noise. Then the main thing that makes this patch so unique in Madeon's song is the clever use of pitch bending and delay - for his delay Madeon uses a fast and a slow delay creating an interesting repeating rhythm that compliments the emotional depth the pitch bending can add. If you have the midi keyboard to do so, I suggest trying to record your own midi & pitch bending with this patch for more human results! I'm also highly suspicious that the original patch was made inside an analog synth so if you have one try figuring this patch in it, it might sound even closer to the original than in Serum :) If there's a subject/sound you want me to cover in one of my future tutorials let me know in the comments below ;) Enjoy! ----------- My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/sharpendmoosic Contact me at: sharpendmoosic@gmail.com ----------- Background Link: https://flic.kr/p/K8NMe6 Taken by Enrico Strocchi, modified by Sharpend.
