Tutorial #37 | Billie Eilish / GTA Synth Lead

Hi! This week's tutorial is about a really nice sound I've wondered for years how to make and to be honest after taking a closer look at it it's really not that complicated like I thought it was lol. I'm talking about the high pitched lead you can hear in Billie Eilish's "all the good girls go to hell", in the GTA San Andreas theme song and in a Barely Alive & Astronaut Collab titled "Bad Fellas" (I'll link to all of these examples with timestamps down here). This sound involves getting a lot of octaves and harmonic content so you wanna go for wavetables that have plenty of these, like saw waves, sine waves with additional harmonics & such. One thing I did forget to mention in the video is that adding the "Portamento" setting in serum on around 60ms and setting it to "Legato" & "Mono" really makes this lead what it is so be sure to do that!
